Crystal Ashe the founder of Memorial Day Ride to Remember just ran her 3rd Annual Event with over 500 participants. The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office escorted the ride through Charlotte Thompson Park Memorial, continued through Salisbury National Cemetery, Thomasville Memorial Wall, and last stop was at Carolina Field of Honor in Kernersville NC.
Crystal and Sheriff McFadden have a great friendship that has grown because of her dedication, respect and love that she has for our officers. She has been know to stop by and feed the officers during work hours.
Thanks to Crystal and all those involved helped raise $2,300 in donations that was presented to Children of Fallen Heroes, NC Homegrown nonprofit that provides support for children and surviving spouses of First Responders and the Military. Funds will be used for such programs like the retreats and education programs.
Mission
In supporting the “Children of Fallen Heroes Foundation” we have found that our vision, purpose, and every minute detail is critical in the healing process for our children. Surviving and thriving the loss of their “Hero” mother or father is our “no-fail mission” and we walk with them and their families until that mission is complete.
Visions
Children of Fallen Heroes Retreat and Education's vision is to expand our existing programs that are designed to create an escape from grief and expand the mind while having fun. Programs include Canine & Wildlife Rescue, Coastal Fishing, Equine Retreat, Golf Day Camp, Indoor Skydiving, Photography, Wedding and Special Occasions, and more.
