Milwaukee Fire Department and Honor Guards honors fallen heroes.

Updated: Jul 27, 2023

Last weekend, the Children of Fallen Heroes Honor Heroes Tour Parachute Team graced the skies at the MKE Airshow, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle that left a lasting impact on everyone present. Amidst the picturesque backdrop of Milwaukee's shoreline, this remarkable team performed the honor jump twice a day on both Saturday and Sunday, paying a heartfelt tribute to the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their communities and defending our freedom.

The weekend was a beautiful display of unity, as people from all walks of life came together to celebrate the bravery and selflessness of our heroes. The event was graced by the presence of the Milwaukee Fire, Police, and Sheriff's Department, standing side by side with the Children of Fallen Heroes Parachute Team, as they jointly saluted and honored their fallen comrades.

A poignant moment during the airshow was when Old Glory, proudly waving in the wind, was encircled by the mesmerizing maneuvers of Rob Holland's Aerobatics Plane. This symbolic act encapsulated the spirit of the event – an unwavering reverence for our nation's flag and the sacrifices it represents.

The outpouring of support from the audience was overwhelming. As the parachutists gracefully descended from the skies, a hushed silence fell upon the crowd, followed by thunderous applause and cheers that echoed down the entire shoreline of Milwaukee. It was evident that the community deeply appreciated the efforts of the Parachute Team and the sense of healing they brought to all who had lost someone in the line of duty.

Beyond the breathtaking aerial displays, the event also held a greater purpose – to instill in the younger generation the values of honor, respect, and appreciation for our beloved heroes. Children witnessed firsthand the significance of acknowledging the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women, as well as the first responders who safeguard our communities day in and day out.

By bringing the community together in solidarity, the Children of Fallen Heroes Honor Heroes Tour helped forge a strong bond between citizens and the brave men and women who protect and serve them. It served as a reminder that we must never forget the courage displayed by those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and that it is our collective responsibility to carry their legacy forward.

As the weekend came to a close, the overwhelming sentiment was one of gratitude and admiration. The Children of Fallen Heroes Parachute Team received heartfelt thanks from attendees and organizers alike, acknowledging the profound impact their performances had on the community. It was clear that this event served as more than just an airshow; it was a profound expression of gratitude and remembrance.

In closing, the Children of Fallen Heroes Honor Heroes Tour Parachute Team and all those involved in organizing this event deserve our heartfelt appreciation. Their dedication to honoring our fallen heroes, fostering community unity, and teaching the younger generation about the importance of respect and gratitude is truly commendable.

To all those who protect our freedom and community, we extend our deepest gratitude. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. We eagerly await the return of the Honor Heroes Tour next year, eager to witness another awe-inspiring display of solidarity and honor in the skies above Milwaukee.
