On a sunny Saturday, October 28th, Moore County Airport and the 5th Annual Festival D'Avion came together to create the 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat Event. It was a day filled with Halloween fun and aviation marvels, attracting thousands of enthusiastic attendees.
Kids and adults arrived in imaginative costumes, adding to the festive atmosphere. The event featured kid zones with games, face painting, and pumpkin decorating, as well as a captivating car show for automotive enthusiasts.
One of the highlights was the military aviation displays, including two A-10 Thunderbolts. The event also featured a daring jumping demonstration by the Children of Fallen Heroes, Honoring Heroes Tour Parachute Team, with swoopers reaching speeds of 80-90 mph, leaving the crowd in awe.
But the event had a deeper purpose. It marked the unveiling of the plans for the 73,000 sqft Children of Fallen Heroes Retreat and STEAM Education Center, to be developed on 82 acres near Fort Liberty (Bragg) in Moore County. This center will be a place for healing and education, honoring military heroes and their families.
The 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat Event was a day to remember, blending entertainment, aviation wonders, and a heartfelt commitment to our heroes. As we look ahead to the next year, we anticipate even greater surprises and moments of inspiration.
Costume contest winners will be joining the Children of Fallen Heroes, Parachute Team including the 82nd Airborne All American Chorus for our STEM Indoor Skydiving programs at Paraclete Indoor Skydiving Adventures in Raeford, NC.
We will be performing Saturday Nov. 11th in Downtown Southern Pines, NC, for the Veterans Parade. Children of Fallen Heroes Parachute Team will be a part of the opening ceremonies at 9:30am.
